McCabes Miniature Horses

Mike McCabe's Bio

Mike McCabe’s journey that became his heart and soul started almost 50 years ago.  It was then he began McCabe’s Training Center, which at that time was known as McCabe’s Arabians.   For the next 30 years he was an innovative part of the Arabian horse world, not only as a trainer but as a judge as well.

He entered into the world of Miniature horses in 1991 with the purchase of his first mini, Martins Tota Lee Awe Some Leo.  He later took “Tote” to multiple World Single Pleasure driving and World Halter Top Tens.  From there burst an intense breeding program striving to produce athleticism, refinement and conformation to the highest standard of World Champions.

He continues to judge and give clinics here in the US and Internationally in countries like Sweden, New Zealand, France, Germany, England, Belgium and many others.  For over a decade he has been on the board of the LOC and he is the chair of Judges Advisory Committee.

Over the 48 years that Mike McCabe has been showing and training horses, few have enjoyed more success.  The horse owners he trains and shows for unanimously cite his subtle ability to communicate with their horse during a class, maximizing their peak performance.  He has an uncanny knack for getting a horse to relax then knowing when to be assertive and when to hold back.

Wanting to share his knowledge with those who are interested to follow this down this same path of growing and improving the breed of Miniature Horses has led him to where he stands today.

Where our focus is the miniature horse...the athlete in halter and driving.
